Conservation Priorities for Vermont Farms and Forests in the Winooski District

Conservation Priorities for the Winooski District

About This Survey. The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provides funding to qualifying landowners of Vermont farms and forests to implement conservation practices that protect our soils and water through the Agricultural Management Assistance Program (AMA), the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP), and the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

There is a huge range of conservation practices that are eligible for funding from the NRCS but, given budget restrictions, not everyone who asks for assistance receives it. NRCS scores and ranks applicants based on criteria set by federal, state, and local priorities. We need your help in determining these local priorities so that NRCS dollars go towards the farm and forest practices we most value to address our most critical natural resource issues. Your responses will directly impact conservation efforts on Vermont farms and forests in our District.
